APULIA

TRIP 1
Apulia, the heel of the Italian boot, is famous for its amazing coastline, the beautiful mixture of Greek, Roman, Norman and Spanish Architecture, its delicious food, the genuine, real people.
It is a must if you want to fall in love with the still authentic Italy.
After the airport pick-up we drive slowly through the Itria Valley to arrive at our home. Fabio and his family welcome us with open arms in their 17th century Masseria, a traditional building and adjoining estate owned by the same family for generations.
On the property there are some Trulli, unique buildings characterised by circular shape, white dry stone walls, small windows and spectacular pinnacles.
The house has been ethically and carefully restored with all modern comforts, including a great swimming pool.
The estate is a source of extraordinary produce: oil, cheeses, salami, preserves. This is a gourmet paradise!
Mamma's breakfast is a mystical experience! We can learn how to prepare Orechiette and Panzerotti and other delicious regional dishes.
This is a strategic location to visit the whole region.
Just 2 Km away is the hamlet of Cisternino, listed amongst the borghi più belli d'Italia (most beautiful villages in Italy). It still retains its spiritual authentic feel, untouched by tourism.
The close village of Alberobello is, among others in Apulia, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Martina Franca, the Baroque city, Ostuni the white city, Otranto, Monopoli,with the historical harbour, Grotta della Poesia ( poetry grotto), Locorotondo, Gallipoli, Lecce known as The Pearl of the Deep South.
So many unique places to marvel in!
Spectacular walks, swims in the invigorating Turquoise Ocean, cultural excursions. The days are full of possible activities.
The nights in Italy are always a time to party, to parade in the piazzas, to eat, drink and be merry!
This enchanted area inspires creativity, Art and relaxation. The splendour of the white beaches between two seas, Ionian and the Adriatic, the scent of wild herbs, twisted olive trees and the street life, once again the rustic authentic food give a glimpse of what life in Italy is all about.

This week we travel by train, bus, boat, taxi and private car along one of the most beautiful coast lines in Europe.
A spectacular scenic trip on the Amalfi Coast, taking in Positano, Isle of Capri, Ravello, Sorrento just to name a few.
Our residence is a stunning comfortable villa by the sea in the enchanting village of Vico Equense.
Lunch in Amalfi, shopping in Positano, hot springs in Ischia, boat rides, sipping Limoncello in Capri, Pompei, exchanging smiles and singing along with the locals…
There is no fixed itinerary, as the Amalfi Coast will take us on its own journey. Are you ready for some life long memories to be made as there are so many experiences to be found in this historically famous Pathway of the Gods

Sicily is indisputably the richest Italian region for Art and Architecture. Home to wonderfully preserved Greek Temples, Roman Villas and Norman Cathedrals.
Its beautiful seas, volcano and mountain scenery were once the site of fierce ancient battles. Sicily is rightfully called the crossroads of the Mediterranean.

During this trip we explore the South-east of Sicily. This is a tour to discover the original flavour of this wonderful island, its amazing people famous for their Arabic hospitality.
The adventure includes visits to many sites that testify to Sicily's incredible cultural heritage, in a journey through some of its breathtaking beauties.
Enchanting Taormina, ancient Art, Markets and Arancini in Catania, Montalbano's Ragusa, the mosaics in Piazza Armerina, glorious Noto, the pistachios in Bronte, Vindicari's coastal sanctuary and more.

Annamaria organic farm close to Noto is our other Sicilian home.
Pamela with her wealth of Artistic knowledge and love for Art Teaching supports and guides us as we sketch our visual experiences in our journals. We capture, record and recreate our memories as quick drawings, notations, colour, mosaic patterns, poetry and photography.
Giovanna is our organiser and guide.
She shares her passion and knowledge of her homeland: its History, Art, Language, Fashion, Regional Food and Wine. She takes us to places only known by locals…and she drives the "getaway car".

The Price in Minori for an apartment is estimated to be $1500 pp for 7 nights and will be discussed individually, according to your preferences as Amalfi Coast is a free time. There is no fixed itinerary or Art tuition.
